1 What does a website cost?

The price of a website can vary greatly. There are many variables that can affect the price, such as the features required and the software required to accomplish this. All of our websites come with a bespoke design, but our startup and deluxe packages use WordPress and WooCommerce to keep things affordable, starting at just £420.  Our tailor made websites are much more flexible and can cost from £2000 upwards.

2 Why is web design important?

There has been a huge shift in recent years towards online services and so your presence online is more important than ever.  A website that is well designed and easy to use gives a customer trust in your products/services.  The pool of potential customers is also expanded.

3 What is the best way to choose a web design firm?

When you start looking for a web designer you will no doubt come across a sea of companies offering you their services.  Aside from finding somewhere within your price range, it’s important to understand their process to ensure it aligns with your expectations, and check out their portfolio.

4 How long does the process take and what steps are there?

This is another aspect that can vary depending on the features required.  Most of our startup and deluxe projects are completed in (4-6 weeks), but this also requires the customer to provide information in a timely manner, so don’t forget to keep on top of things!

5 What is a sitemap and why is it important?

We get a lot of questions about the sitemap, mostly because it appears to be much more confusing than it is.  A sitemap shows you the navigational structure of your website, including the parent pages (displayed in the navigation bar), any child pages (usually located from the parent dropdown), top links and bottom links.

6 What makes WordPress an effective content management system?

We choose to make all of our websites using WordPress, which is a popular CMS (content managing system) and blogging platform. WordPress allows the user to have a lot of control over their website – once our process is complete you will be able to navigate their simple backend (section) to update it yourself(, and any additional functionality you may require in the future is much easier to add.

7 What is user experience and why is it important?

The user experience (UX) is how a user experiences your website.  How a visitor feels can affect whether they want to stay on your website and how they will interact with it in future.  Therefore it is important to keep a user engaged with the content, build trust and make sure they are able to find the information they want quickly.

8 What does a mobile-friendly site mean?

Being mobile-friendly is important not only for the user experience, but also for Google rankings as mobile-friendly sites will be ranked above websites that aren’t.  In order to achieve this website will either resize and restructure for smaller devices or offer a simplified version of the website.

9 What is responsive web design?

Responsive web design is becoming ever more necessary as your website will be viewed on a variety of different devices and screen sizes.  It keeps all your original design and content the same so nothing is lost. All our websites come with responsive (design layouts).

10  How can my website generate sales leads?

A website can be thought of as an online advert and needs to be viewed as a lead generation tool. The best websites for this purpose will have an intuitive design that guides the user towards a sale, be it an online store of contact with the sales team.  It should also capture contact information and encourage newsletter sign-ups.
